Cumberland Valley High School Honors Soaring Eagles Cumberland Valley High School in January 2009 began a new program to recognize outstanding students. As part of the student recognition initiative, the SOARING EAGLES program honors a male and female student from each grade level each month. Faculty, staff and students can nominate students who are deserving of distinction. A student can be nominated for reasons including, but not limited to, positive attitude, noteworthy service, marked improvement, great attendance, impressive effort, academic achievement and constant excellence. Criteria for the award is intentionally vague as a way to broaden the number of potential nominees. The spirit of the award is to recognize a variety of students for a variety of accomplishments. Nominations are reviewed by a grade-level selection team of administrators, guidance counselors and teachers. Each month, one male and one female from each grade will receive the honor.
