"We are a big District with an even BIGGER Heart. I am asking you (staff) to Win the Day Every Day this year. Our students need to know we are smiling even when we are wearing a mask. Our kids need us to show up for them and Win Every Day.” ~ Dr. David Christopher, CVSD Superintendent

The above were some comments included in Dr. Christopher’s address to all Cumberland Valley School District staff prior to the start of the new year. As a non-profit whose mission is to support the community and students, the Eagle Foundation WANTS show up and provide for our students in this time of need.

Many modifications and unforeseen expenses are the reasons the Eagle Foundation created the COVID-19 Assistance Fund. While the Eagle Foundation has already been adjusting its 2020-21 budget to add items to assist the District with student and teacher needs, we want to do more. We believe our community and donors can play a big role in providing assistance to help students by supplying items and resources that have now become necessities.

What we are ALREADY doing:

● Providing financial support to assist the District with monthly hot spot charges to provide internet connectivity for students in need

● Paying for one year of an electronic book subscription making books available to all elementary students in school and at home throughout the calendar year

● Funding the purchase of face shields for our unique student populations

● Assisting with insurance costs for personal devices for students in need

● Creating a new category of COVID-19 within the learning grants program for teachers to apply for classroom needs

We have pledged a minimum of $15,000 in our budget to support these needs, but we understand this is a small fraction of actual costs. Please help us in reaching our goal of increasing this support to our Cumberland Valley students. We encourage all who can to join us in donating to the COVID-19 Assistance Fund. If you have already pledged to the 2020 or 2021 campaign, this gift will be added to your campaign total.Thank you for helping us “Show Up” and provide unbudgeted essentials to help our CV students.
