Meet Dr. Treese, CIT (Secondary)

Supervisor of Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology/College and Career Program Coordinator

Dr. Matthew Treese is a 2005 graduate of Wilkes University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Secondary Education concentration, and English as a Second Language specialization. In 2007, he earned his Master of Science in Education degree with a major in Instructional Technology. Matt earned his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership degree with a major in K-12 Administration in 2012.  In 2016, he earned his Executive Chief Information Officer certificate from the Government Technology Institute at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. 

Dr. Treese currently holds English 7-12, English as a Second Language Specialist K-12, Instructional Technology Specialist K-12, Principal K-12, Assistant Superintendent K-12, and Superintendent K-12 certifications. 

Dr. Treese started his career at Pleasant Valley School District in Broadheadsville, PA, before coming to Cumberland Valley School District in February 2007. In addition to public school teaching, he taught for Wilkes University's Upward Bound Program and was an adjunct instructor for Keystone College in LaPlume, PA, teaching in the Business, Management, and Information Technology Division. Dr. Treese taught at Good Hope Middle School, as well as served as the English Department Chair for one year. Currently, he is an adjunct instructor for Wilkes University's Master of Science in Education Program, as well as serves as a dissertation examiner for the Doctor of Education Program.

Prior to his role as Supervisor of Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology, Dr. Treese served as Supervisor of English and Reading, supporting two departments, English and Reading, in the Cumberland Valley School District.

In his current role, Dr. Treese supports curriculum, instruction, and technology for the District.  His areas of focus include dual enrollment, college in the high school, internships and co-ops, and articulation agreements. Dr. Treese directly supervises the following departments: art, business, family and consumer sciences, and technology education, as well as the department chairs for those departments.
